The vision

Church is not just a place we go. It is who we are.

Center Church is a community of Christ followers copying the early Church of Acts in South St. Louis. We study God’s word, pray for Him to move, and live a life committed to loving each other. We share space, meals, and our gifts with each other.

Following the disciples’ example, we give more than we take, work to be a burden upon no one, and think of others more highly than ourselves. Church is not just a place we go to. It is who we are and how we support each other in Christ.

Scripture: Acts 2:42-47 · John 13:35 · 1 Thessalonians 2:9 · Philippians 2:3

Live. Worship. Serve.

What a week here will look like. None of it exists yet. All of it is on the way.

Live

We will eat together often. A meal, a shower, a load of laundry, a place to sit. All of it pay what you can, all of it for the whole neighborhood.

First up: the neighborhood cookout

Worship

Sundays will be simple. Praise and worship that is about God, not us. Scripture read together. Prayer for the sick and the hurting. Space for the Spirit to move.

Once the sanctuary is ready

Serve

Work days on the property right now. Service projects on the block, aftercare for kids, and housing for widows as we grow. We use what we have been given to care for the least of these.

Happening now

Come as you are

“If a brother or a sister is poorly clothed and lacking food for the day, and one of you should say to them, ‘Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,’ but does not give them what is necessary for the body, what is the benefit?”

The plan

An old church, a school, and a house on the corner. We are taking it in phases.

We are new, and we are honest about it. Neighboring churches are already showing up with hands and tools. Tithes and offerings here buy assets, not expenses, so this church can serve Dutchtown for generations, debt free.

New here? Real questions, plain answers.

What should I expect on a Sunday?
Are my kids welcome?
Do I need money or nice clothes?
Who leads this church?

Everything here is pay what you can. Giving is what makes that possible.

Every dollar goes to the neighborhood, not to salaries. Leadership is volunteer. Give once or monthly through Tithely, our secure giving partner.
